Hayabusa, literally translated as Japanese Falcon, is a vertically scroling shooter developed by Entis Soft (known for Witch in Wonderlandand series) and it was released at Comiket 79 on December 31, 2010. The player controls Hayabusa, a scientific satellite, of the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) to return sample of material from several near-Earth asteroids to Earth for further analysis. Hayabusa lifts its main gameplay mechanic from Ikaruga, with polarity system as well as combination chains for points. The unmanned spacecraft has three attacks; a normal shot (spray of bullets), D-Energy which serves as force bomb to nullifies all on-screen bullets, and every shot player absorb goes to fill a gauge known as Charge Sampler Horn that ultimately leads to a screen-clearing beam. The player shoots through five stages. Each level ends with a boss fight and each game begins with three lives. The option to continue is given when all lives are lost.
