After the final battle, The Shikon jewel disappeared together with Naraku. The world regained its peace, Inuyasha and his friends returned to Kaede's village. Although Naraku's death made Miroku's kazana curse disappear, accumulated poison remains in his body. They went to Monk Mushin and asked for a therapy, but got a depressing responce. Miroku is severely poisoned and now can only live on medicinal herbs to elongate his life. But nobody knows how long this is going to last. According to Mushin and Kaede's suggestion they went to pine mountain, rich in all kinds of herbs.
