The nation of Caldea has huge advantage in numbers and technology. Soon after, Caldea began conquering nations one after another. In response, several other nations coupled together to create the nation of Lydia but they were no match for Caldea and were eventually almost completely wiped out. Ether Vapor is a scrolling shooter video game, developed and published by Edelweiss. Described as a cinematic shooting game, Ether Vapor has a perspective-changing gimmick on particular events to give a dynamic impression. The gameplay in Ether Vapor follows a young pilot named Luca Earlgrey who appears in a prototype Ex-Tio fighter and begins attacking Caldea's forces. The ship has three modes of fire: the long range front shot, the wide shot and homing laser. All three of the primary weapons can be charged up for a different special attack. The game also features shield points which is similar to life points. Player begins with a small number of shields and continues, but player can earn more with enough time and dedication. There are seven areas with boss battle that the player will have the chance to experience. Ether Vapor was released at Comiket 73, on December 31, 2007.
