Karugamo, literally translated as Light Duck, is a military themed vertically shooting game developed and released in 2003 for Windows by an obscure doujin circle called MARRON GLACE URA. The game is notable for using ship models much like Mars Matrix and the attack patterns are very similar to Donpachi. Karugamo was ported to the Sega Dreamcast in 2005 and released by indie German developer called Project Fire Storm. The player controls one of two different aircrafts - BOURYUU AND SOURYUU, each of them has different max speed and shot angle - and must destroy enemy aircraft, tanks, ships, and buildings. There are three different characters in the game; Tomomi, Sayaka and Nana, each does not have a storyline but different abilities that affect the aircraft ability. Each character has three attacks: a normal shot, laser and burst shot which is basically a temporary powerful shot. Karugamo has no upgrade or ammo pickup mechanic and enemies will drop score items when destroyed.
